OUR STORY
The National Firefighters Training Foundation Inc. is a dedicated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
committed to making high-quality, experience-based training accessible and affordable for firefighters
across the United States. Our mission is to provide comprehensive training opportunities, including
conferences and "drill night" events, ensuring that all firefighters can achieve their training goals,
regardless of their department's funding capabilities. We believe that every firefighter deserves the
chance to enhance their skills and knowledge, ultimately improving safety and effectiveness in both
their departments and their communities.
The organization started with the vision of three dedicated firefighters who sought to provide training
events in South Alabama. This initiative led to the formation of the Alabama Firefighters Training
Foundation. As our reputation grew, we received numerous requests from firefighters and
departments beyond Alabama. In response to this demand, we expanded our mission and became
the National Firefighters Training Foundation, Inc. This change allowed us to deliver high-quality,
experience-based training to firefighters across the nation, ensuring that every firefighter has access
to the resources they need to succeed.
The organization has 3 flagship programs:
Annual Fire Training and Conferences
We organize annual training events and conferences staffed by national training experts, offering
affordable registration fees. In addition to our events at selected locations, we actively respond to
requests from departments across the country. We also work diligently to secure donations that fund
scholarships, making training accessible for all firefighters.
Rural and Volunteer Training Events
Our rural and volunteer training events are designed to meet the unique needs of smaller
departments. Often held on weeknights, these events make it easier for volunteer firefighters to
participate without conflicting with regular training schedules. Offered at a nominal fee or free of
charge, these events provide valuable training opportunities tailored for volunteer fire departments,
ensuring that all firefighters have access to quality education.
Building Our Mobile Training Unit
Our Mobile Training Unit is a fully equipped trailer designed to bring comprehensive training directly to
fire departments. It contains all the necessary fire equipment to facilitate training at all levels. For a
nominal fee plus travel costs, our staff will deliver the unit to your department and retrieve it once
training is complete. Our team consists of national fire training professionals who are available to
assist with your department's training goals, ensuring a tailored and effective training experience.
The organization was founded by Anthony Rowett (Port City Fire Training), Joseph Petties, Enrique
Bush, Todd Edwards (Fire Life Training), and Mickey Farrell (Top Floor Tactics).
